The Retreat at Eden Isle is a luxury vacation rental home on Eden Isle, a 400 acre resort surrounded by Greers Ferry Lake in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains just 4 miles from Heber Springs, Arkansas. Built in 1965 as one of Eden Isle's first "vacation villas," the Retreat has been lovingly restored and updated with respect for its 1960s roots and architecture.  

The Space

The Retreat offers sleeping arrangements for up to 10 guests, beautiful views of Greers Very Lake, an outdoor deck and dining area, a fire pit surrounded by hand-built cedar Adirondack chairs, a private courtyard with a three-tiered fountain, a romantic wood burning fireplace, a fully stocked gourmet kitchen, close proximity to Eden Isle Marina and much more. 

The Retreat's living area is complemented by a a coffee table that was hand-crafted from locally sourced and repurposed crib wood.  A massive natural cedar beam serves as the mantle for the Retreat's wood-burning fireplace. The Retreat features an open layout. The Retreat's kitchen table and granite bar can provide seating for 14. The Retreat's vaulted ceilings, light wells and ample windows provide a constant reminder of Eden Isle's natural outdoor beauty.

The Retreat's entry courtyard and fountain area provides guests a spacious, but intimate gathering area. The new rear deck offers offers guests a beautiful setting for outdoor dining and relaxation that includes views of Greers Ferry Lake. The Retreat's Arkansas stone fire pit and locally crafted cedar Adirondack chairs provide another great outdoor gathering space that offers our guests views of Greers Ferry Lake and Eden Isle's natural beauty. 

The style and character of the Retreat and other original Eden Isle homes can be attributed to the influence of Arkansas' most renowned architect E. Faye Jones (the first Dean of the University of Arkansas' School of Architecture and a former apprentice of Frank Lloyd Wright) and many of his students and colleagues who adhered to his style, which often incorporated features like natural stone, natural light, and extensive windows that allow the outdoor beauty of Arkansas to be drawn indoors. 

Guest Access

Guests of the Retreat have private access to our entire home.  Greer's Ferry Lake is less than 200 yards away.  Eden Isle Marina is approximately 1/2 mile from the Retreat.  Eden Isle's Red Apple Inn & Country Club, which offers fine dining and a championship golf course,  is also a short (3 - 4 minute) drive from the Retreat.

Interaction with Guests

We spend most weekends at a home we own just down the street from the Retreat.  Eden Isle, Greers Ferry Lake and Heber Springs offer extensive options for recreation and entertainment.  If you have questions or would like recommendations, please don't hesitate to call.  We love meeting new people and we are always happy to provide information about Eden Isle and the surrounding area's many attractions.  

Boating Information

If you plan to bring a boat, Eden Isle Marina ((501) 362-2232) offers nightly slip rentals. Alternatively the Marina offers daily and multi-day boat rentals as well.
